Tomorrow is...

Istock_000003360164xsmallBaby day for my brother and sister-in-law. She has a c-section scheduled for the morning. Unfortunately I've been lovingly banned from the baby until I'm healthy. I'm crossing my fingers that my health will rapidly improve as I leave for work on Feb 6 and won't be home until the 16th. So I only have a few days to get those precious new born photos!

If all goes as the family has been told, the new baby will be a boy, making it a grand total of 6 nephews and no nieces for Rick and I.

Here's hoping for a safe and healthy arrival. I'll come back and update once I know any news.

She is my hero...

No14lovea_2  For years she has been my go-to for inspiration, my muse and I have been her dedicated stalker (wink!). Today, I was so pleased to see the relaunch of her website and discover that she has a blog that magically combines her art and beautiful sense of humor.

She is also the featured artist in this months Somerset Studio magazine. Pure eye candy!

Please enjoy her new website here. And her beautiful blog here. (Charm pictured can be found on this page).

Miracles happen...

Hi friends. Despite my best intentions, as you can see, I’ve once again taken a wee break from blogging. This time I can thank my dear hubby for this break as in his kindheartedness, he decided to share his cold with me. So between the two of us, we’ve been the most pathetic pair ever. I’m hoping that I’m now on the upswing…we’ll see.

Today I did want to take the time to share with you a powerful story of inspiration and hope. As many of you know, I work for the scrapbook company Melissa Frances. It has by far been the best working experience I have had in this industry. Melissa is classy, honest and has earned my unwavering respect and admiration. She’s one of my best friends and I’d do anything for her. This past year has been a life changing one for both Melissa and the Melissa Frances Company. Right after CHA Winter 2007, Melissa was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Talk about a punch to the gut, eh? Here was this incredibly vibrant woman, being given a terrible diagnosis. This year has been rough. Melissa faced surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. While going through treatment that knocks most people out of commission, Melissa continued to helm her company. Some days I know without a doubt that it was all she could do to get out of bed, but still she persevered. She struggle and she overcame. Today I’m happy to report that Melissa is cancer free.

Thankful_logo2_2

CHA Winter 2008 will mark an exciting product launch for us at Melissa Frances. Her battle with cancer inspired Melissa to design products aimed at all women who have something to be thankful for.  The line is appropriately named “Thankful”, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Melissa’s chosen breast cancer charity.  Whether it’s a life threatening disease like breast cancer, or one of the many other challenges women face and conquer each day, we all have something to be “Thankful” for. Stay tuned for product previews….in the meantime, please be sure that you’re signed up to receive the Melissa Frances newsletter as there will be a special message from Melissa in the upcoming issue.

A new year!

Jan_16

Wow, where has the time gone? I am so sorry that I’ve been MIA.

I’ve had a rough time getting my ‘stuff’ together the past few weeks. Rick and I had a lovely Christmas filled with beautiful times with family and friends. I celebrated my 30th birthday (yeay!) and Rick had a 2 week holiday. Everything was going great, but for whatever reason the first week and a half of January was really rough for me. I was barely keeping my head above water. Luckily it was a short lasted ‘funk’ and I’m feeling back to my normal self now and just extremely busy with getting ready for the CHA trade show. There are some exciting things happening with Melissa Frances and I look forward to telling you about them.

But for today I just wanted to say ‘hi’, thank those friends who checked on me and let you know that I’ll be back to updating regularly again.
