Something about that little red head...

As you read this, I'll be on my way to spend the weekend with one of my favorite red heads (Rachel Killpack from the Melissa Frances design team) in the Pleasanton area of California. 

Thinking of Rachel reminded me of this photo I took of a few of my doll heads last summer. That little red one has got to be one of my most favorite finds ever - she just has the most perfect face! There is a funny background story on those dolls...If I'm not too tired, I'll post the story sometime this weekend. Otherwise look for it on Monday.

Ten Years

I finally sat down to scrapbook the photos that the talented Joanna Bolick took of Rick and I in Sept 2007. She is such a gifted photographer who made Rick and I feel so comfortable as she shot. These were my 2 favorites from the session and I used them for my 10th anniversary page.

It's a small world...

It's a bright sunny day here on the west coast, and I'm feeling happy as I'm finally getting over the flu I've been battling since Saturday. I've got to say, flying when sick is on my 'worst things ever' list. 'nuff said.

Onto happy thoughts. Last week I told you that I'd been feeling creative the weekend before and had whipped up some passport holders. It was a ton of fun. It's been years since I've actually used my sewing machine for a fabric craft project. I used the tutorial from this crafty girl to help me on my way.

I had the pleasure of being invited to participate in the Birthday celebration for Emma's Paperie last weekend. I was very warmly welcomed by Cindy, the delightful owner of the site, who sent me the most amazing hand cream along with a lovely selection of shabby-styled products to design with. It was my pleasure to share a layout along with a card as a part of her all-day-long blog party. Today I thought I'd share the layout with you.

This layout is the first one I've done for the holiday hubby and I took in 2007 (gulp), I guess I'd better get onto creating an album, eh?

My brother sent this video to me, and I thought I'd share it here as it made quite the impact on me.

Once again I am reminded of how quickly our world is changing.

One of the things I love about the Internet is how small it makes our creative world and how easily and accessible it makes searching for inspiration. I treated myself to a creative day yesterday. I created this layout as well as whipped up a few passport holders (which I'll share later this week) I thought in creating this layout that I'd talk about why I appreciate the internet and take a few of my favorite flickr photos from one of the photo collages I made. *Update on my dog: So Dixie went to the vet today to be boarded for a few days while they try to regulate her blood glucose levels. Poor baby was really sick. When I took her in last Tuesday she weighed 12.3 lbs. which was already down from her normal weight. When I took her in this morning, she weighed 11.15 lbs. That's a big loss in only 6 days! I so appreciated those who shared their experiences with diabetic dogs, and for the well-wishes. Hopefully our pup is now on the path to getting better.*
