It all started with my desire to make something special for my Mom.
Given that I have been feeling more & more confident with my jewelry making, I thought it might be nice to make her a special piece. But her taste is different from mine, so I had been holding off as I wanted to make her something that I thought she would really like.
As I started to do more with soldering, I began to ponder if I should make her something combining soldering with a photo. Then, I remembered a photo of my Mom and her little sister sitting on a horse when they were little girls and I knew that it was the right one to use. Although they live thousands of miles apart, to this day my Mom and her sister are best friends and talk on the phone all the time.
I choose to use blue beads as it is my Mom's favorite color. Mix in some pearls and a touch of sparkle and you've got a piece that strikes both a sentimental and fashionable touch.
On Wed. morning I will be heading to Anaheim for the Craft and Hobby Association show (CHA). Most of us who work in the craft industry have been incredibly busy the last few weeks preparing for the show and putting finishing touches on projects. Within the next few days I will be showing some sneak peeks of the newest Melissa Frances products which will launch at the show. I can't wait to show you.
