Postmark: LA

After many months of work, and several blog hints and teases I am so tickled to reveal the secret project that Teresa, Charlotte, Rebecca, Pam, Amy and I have been working on. Without further delay, here is our baby, POSTMARK: LA

Postmarkbooks1

Imagine a girls getaway that fills your creative well. A trip that reminds you why you create and how much fun it can be. Imagine friends who understand your passion for vintage and your appreciation of pretty. Now imagine one of these friends whispering a dream, "we should do a book"....everyone laughs, then, a pause, and suddenly this dream seems possible. Achievable...dare we say, even fun!

Yes, as many of you guessed, we have created our own 'petit livre'! We've been hard at work designing the kind of book that we would like to read. One that celebrates friendship, vintage findings and inspiring thoughts. Heavy on the eye-candy graphics and also including several 'for your use' pages (including an embroidery pattern and vintage photos just to name a few) Postmark:LA is a visual treat.
It's been a delight to work on this book together  and I can't say enough sweet things about 'my girls' who included me on this amazing journey.
You can purchase your copy of Postmark: LA  HERE.
As a thank you for your patience and joy in sharing this project with us, I'll be giving away the embroidery project that I created for the book. Just leave a comment below and I'll draw a name on Monday! Here's a wee peek at what you could receive:

Collages looking for a home...

You may have already seen posts from some of the Silver Bella participants about the Vendor Faire on Friday night. It was absolutely magical. I wish that I might have had more time to visit the booths of the other artisans. I did get a little peek, but could have spent hours looking through everyone's wares.  I sold most of my collages and only have three left that are looking for homes. I've posted photos of them below. (click on photo to see a larger view) If you're interested, please email me and we'll talk. (prices are listed, you will need to add $5 for shipping). I will also be selling class kits, but they are currently being shipped from Omaha, so I'll post once I have them in my hands and ready to go.

I'm heading home tomorrow morning. We've gotten soooo much work done that I am sooooo pleased with. I can't wait to show everyone what we've designed 'cause I am SO proud of it!

Here's another peak at a Silver Bella collage.

I hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Here I am...

in Toronto. I flew out to the city Friday morning. My mom who is out here visiting family, picked me up from the airport and then she and my aunt and I spent a good portion of the day on Saturday at the Creative Festival. It was a lot of fun. (I bought some really fun Stampin' Up! stamps and embellishments. I'll have to post photos of them once I'm back home).

Sunday evening I left family and headed out to Melissa Frances's house. I will be here all week as we are working on designing product. Fun, fun, fun!

Here's another little peek of a collage for the vendor faire at Silver Bella. This is from the 'Friends' collage.

Gettin' ready...

I don't know about you, but my excitement revel is gettin' higher and higher each day. Silver Bella is one of the highlights of my year, and to think, it's just around the corner. I'm trying to finish up lots of 'stuff' around the studio as I leave on Friday for head office and just have a few days in between coming home from there and leaving for Silver Bella, so I'm trying to get all my artwork done. I'm seriously having SO much fun. It's been eons since I've sat down for several days in a row to do mixed media art. It's been a welcome break.

Here is a little sneak peek at several of the collages I will be bringing with me to the show. Feel free to let me know if you're hoping to see anything in a specific color pallet. I can always try to pull something together before the show. I'll be showing more peeks in the coming days, I hope you enjoy!Silver_bella_collage_peeks

Looking for a new home...

Here's a little something for the local girls. Rick and I were doing some cleaning/setting out Christmas decorations and as we were cleaning out my former studio, I decided that it was time to sell my two stamp cubbies.Stamp_shelf They were manufactured by the now defunct Delafield Stamp Co. and I bought them several years ago for $80 US each. They are the kind of stamp displays that you see in many rubber stamp stores. They are wood. Each display is 36 inches high, 32 inches wide, and 6 inches deep.  There are 8 storage rows. I have more measurements should you need them.  I would like to sell these suckers for $40 each. If you wanted both, we could probably work out a deal.  The one pictured here is in perfect condition. The second one has a little nick on the front left side (see photo). On both shelves, you could conceivably cover up the delafield label with paint should you decide you'd rather not have their logo on the front.

Please email me if you're interested.

Hope you're having  nice day.Self_with_nick
