One aspect of "La Dolce Vita" which is eagerly anticipated by attendees are the days filled with creativity! Carolyn envisions this retreat to be one where women of all skill levels enjoy flexing their creative muscles while learning, or improving, their working knowledge in a variety of different creative fields. At "La Dolce Vita" 2017 there will be 2 featured workshops.
Our first feature workshop will be led by Silvia and Carla, two Siena based florists, who own "Il Bouquet – Laboratorio Floreale" the company that has provided beautiful floral arrangements for previous "La Dolce Vita" retreats. At the beginning of the workshop there will be a floral arranging demonstration showing how to create a base, then add texture and movement with greenery and accents before topping it off with beautiful flower combinations. After the demonstration, attendees will put the lesson to practice as they build their own small arrangement under the helpful direction of Silvia and Carla. This is sure to be a day of beautiful, colorful creativity and fun!
Our second workshop will be a photo styling class led by one of Jo Packham's handpicked photographers who she trusts to shoot for her publications. In the lesson attendees will explore what makes a captivating, well-composed, attractive image. Whether you are looking to improve your photography for your personal Instagram gallery, or looking to take stronger photos for your business or publishing, this class will give you a great foundation. In order to get the most out of the workshop a DLSR camera is recommended, however if you don't have one, pointers for those using a point and shoot or iPhone/Android camera will also be given. As a special bonus, Jo Packham will also be sharing tips for what she, as a magazine publisher looks for when she selects images for print.
In addition to our feature workshops, there will also be open studio time where the classroom will be available for attendees to create and visit as they take part in a few bonus activities that Carolyn and Jo have up their sleeves!
"La Dolce Vita" attendees will be asked to bring a basic set of supplies for the workshops. They will be emailed the supply list in early Spring 2017.
