I am back home after a wonderful time in Italy for La Dolce Vita Retreat. Upon my return I was challenged by my friends at Ellen Hutson to join their Christmas in July celebration and I'm so glad I said yes - it was enjoyable to get back into my studio and craft again! So here's my contribution to the their celebration.
To start, I decided to use the Essentials by Ellen Geo Tree Die as the focal point of the card. To create the faux stained glass effect behind the tree, I cut a piece of vellum slightly larger than the die cut opening and then I colored with the following three Copic markers: Y15, G21, G24. The greeting was stamped with the Essentials by Ellen Season to Sparkle stamp set in Versamark and then heat embossed using Ranger Gold Superfine Embossing Powder. The papers on the card are white and kraft cardstock with a little strip of Gold foil paper and old ledger paper (the rough edged paper on the left). For the final step, I used a corner rounder to round out the top and bottom corners on the right side of the card.
The best part about accepting this challenge is that now I've got a head start on my holiday card making. If you also want to get a head start, the exciting news is that all products in the "Christmas in July" section of the Ellen Hutson store are 40% off until July 24th. Click on this link to check them out. No coupon needed, the price will be adjusted once it's in your cart!
Thank you for joining me I wish you happy card making. As I close out this post, here is a look at the products used to make this card:
