Hello! It's October which is Breast Cancer awareness month. As a special surprise to Ellen Hutson, her friend Carly arranged a blog hop highlighting Ellen's United we Conquer "Courage" stamp set. $25 from the purchase price of each stamp set is being donated to BCRF. Since May, when the set was first introduced, Ellen's fundraising effort has already raised over $27,000!
You should have come here from the blog of Carly Tee Minner. In case you just stumbled upon the hop, be certain to start at the Classroom blog so you don't miss a stop!
When I sat down to make my card I wanted to design something simple and uplifting. A card that could be made in many different color ways depending on the taste of the receiver, or to allude to the illness someone is facing.
My card is really as simple as it looks. The encouraging sentiment, "You can do the impossible because you have been through the unimaginable", from the "Courage" stamp set was stamped with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. To watercolor, I painted onto watercolor paper using a #12 round brush and Kuretake watercolors in #731 and #734 from their pearl color set. I glued a pink watercolor paper from the Magnolia Jane 12x12 paper pad by Heidi Swapp onto the card front and a small strip of gold foil paper that would peek from above the watercolored sentiment block. To finish off the card, I mounted the watercolor sentiment block onto chipboard in order to give it height/depth and glued it to the card front.
Thanks so much for coming to visit me on today's blog hop. I hope you enjoyed your visit. Your next stop is the blog of Donna Mikasa
