Hello! Welcome to the Essentials by Ellen November release blog hop. I'm delighted you stopped by and am happy to share my projects with you. If you've been following along with the hop, you will have come here from the blog of Carly Tee Minner.
I worked with the new Abstract Paint Strokes Set, which is super versatile set - it's one I'm stoked to have in my arsenal.
Here's a look at the complete set, along with a few more samples by the stamp designer, Julie Ebersole.
I decided to make two identical cards showcasing two different Fall color ways. Here's a look at the cards together:
These cards were very simple to make, and have a clean, graphic look. Yet, they also have a few added touches that I think elevate their overall design.
First, for the products: Both cards were made from Neenah Solar White heavy cardstock, and the patterned paper is the Solid Stripes 6x6 Kraft Collection by My Favorite Things
Stamps: Essentials by Ellen: Abstract Brushstrokes, Rustic Botanicals and All Inside (hello sentiment)
Ink - all Altenew Crips inks: Frayed Leaf, Caramel Toffee, Evergreen, and Jet Black
I stamped all the images using the MISTI in order to keep the same alignment on both cards, and also in order to stamp again on the occasional instance where I didn't apply enough pressure the first time and didn't get the full impression of the stamp.
The final touch to this project was adding a line of white stitching down the left edge of the card, and below the 'hello' greeting. These two details, while simple, add unexpected texture and complexity to the cards.
Thank you for joining me on this hop today. I hope you enjoyed your visit. Your next stop is the blog of the talented Nichol Sphor. And if you get lost, you can always start again in the Ellen Hutson CLASSroom.
