Today I'm taking part in Ellen Hutson's Three Takes on a Trend Challenge with Julia and Lisa, two of my fellow Ellen Hutson team members. Below you can see the photo we were given as our jumping off point. Sometimes I am very literal when I'm working on these challenges, and other times the inspiration photo is more of a jumping off point and I take a journey with it. My contribution today is more of the later than the former :) I used the top two colors and the grey from the center of swatch guide.
I used the Essentials by Ellen "Mermaid's Tail" stamp set because I immediately thought that an ombre ink pad would look amazing on the scales of the Mermaid's Tale. I then chose the beautiful Fringed Scallop die to mimic the look of the Mermaid's scales below the stamped image. Finally, a line of stitching across the top of the card and a few little sequins add finishing details.
Here is the SUPPLY LIST:
Stamps: Mermaid's Tail by Essentials by Ellen
Die: Fringed Scallop Borders by My Favorite Things
Ink colors: Pool to Navy Ombre Pad by Hero Arts, Midnight by Catherine Pooler
Patterned paper: Carousel paper pad by Crate paper
Cardstock: Neenah Solar White, Bazzill Candy Pearls, Bazzill Rock Candy
Other: Winter Whites Sequins by 28 Lilac Lane, 3D foam dots (regular or small will work), MISTI Stamp positioner (large or small, either will work for cards), sewing machine with white thread
