It's the dog days of summer when I tuck memories of the sunshine and hot weather into my heart, to unpack in the winter, when the grey skies and rain that mark winter here in the Pacific Northwest, becomes too oppressive.
Speaking of winter, today, the Ellen Hutson Creative Team is celebrating Christmas in July with a holiday card hop - and one lucky reader will win a prize, learn how to enter at the bottom of this post!
Like many of you, I enjoy sending Christmas cards to family and friends, and I find that the best way to make it manageable is to start making cards in the summer and fall, so that by the time Dec. hits, I'm not having to plan marathon sessions in order to get enough done.
For today's hop, I thought I'd make a card for a friend who lives in a place where Christmas does not mean snow and pine trees, but rather is hot and summer.
For a little touch of dimension, I added some Stickles, glitter glue to the brim and pompom of the Santa hat.
