Yay! (you did it!)

Masculine cards have never been my forte, but every once in a while a masculine design pops into my mind and I can't wait to make it a reality.

I had been thinking about making a card with the Lil' Squatch stamp set when it just came to me that I should do a congratulatory card using the little guy with his arms raised in victory. I combined it with the "yay!" greeting from the Small sayings set. And, by backing it onto a strong blue background I knew it would be perfect for one of the men in my life. 

Yay to that, I say!

With Sympathy

Card making, for me, is a way to share my appreciation to people who matter to me. And the loss of a loved one is a season of life where our friends need us more than ever. This is why I was pleased to see the "with sympathy" stamp in the Totally Random Sayings stamp set that Ellen Hutson released a few months ago. Up until now, I'd often used "thinking of you" stamps for condolence cards, so this stamp was a welcome addition to my stash.

The focal point of this card is the layered rose, which used another oldie but goodie 3-layer stamp from The Stamp Market, "Summer Stems". I choose to stamp it in shades of blue, even though I know that there is no such thing as a natural blue rose, but I thought that a blue rose was fitting for someone who is feeling blue due to the loss of a loved one.

Happy 2020 friends! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and wish you all the best as we begin a new decade.

Today's card project is CAS and the design lends itself to being duplicated again and again using different stamps, patterned paper, and accent cardstock colors. As we begin the new year, these are the kinds of projects I gravitate towards and love making, I hope you'll enjoy following along :)
