Hi friends, how are you doing? This week has been a difficult one for me and my company. Amongst all the big decisions that needed to be made and conference calls/emails, being able to escape into my studio was a Godsend. If you're also finding the stress building up, my wish for you is that you can find some time to enjoy your favorite hobby, and escape into the joy it brings.
Today's post is in concert with some of my friends on the Ellen Hutson team. We were invited to play with the newest Pretty Pink Posh release and share our projects with you.
I adore florals, so was delighted to create with these tulips, a perfect set to welcome Spring.
SUPPLY LIST:
Stamps: Tulips by Pretty Pink Posh, It's all Good by Ellen Hutson
Die Cut: Tulips and Eyelet Borders by Pretty Pink Posh
Ink: Potting Soil Archival ink by Ranger
Distress Markers to watercolor with: Worn Lipstick, Scattered Straw, Mowed Lawn, Shabby Shutters
Cardstock: Ranger Watercolor paper, Solar White by Neenah
Patterned Paper: Sweet on You 6x6 paper pad by Honey Bee
Other: Die Cutting machine, Scrapbook Adhesives Crafty Foam Tape, Non-Stick Craft Sheet by Ranger, Watercolour brushes, sewing machine and white thread
I decided to watercolour the flowers using Distress Markers as my colouring medium. After stamping the stamp onto watercolour paper, I took my markers and coloured them onto my Ranger Non-Stick Craft Sheet. Then I used watercolour brushes and mixed the marker ink with water to create the watercolours I would work with for my painting.
After the paint was dry, I cut the tulips out using the coordinating die cut.
The card base was made from Nenah cardstock, and the patterned paper was first cut from the "Sweet on You" 6x6 paper pad from Honey Bee Stamps, then, I used the beautiful rounded Eyelet Border Die cut to trim some of the bottom of the patterned paper off. Before gluing it onto the cardstock card base, I glued a strip of white across the top of it, and then added the zig zag stitching, using my sewing machine, across it. Then, I glued this paper onto the card base.
I adhered the tulips, using Foam Tape slightly to the left on the card front, then stamped the greeting, which I filled with white for added contrast.
