This week is already passing in a blur. As those of you who follow my employer Melissa Frances know, in 2007 she was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. She is doing really very well in her battle (currently cancer free!) and next week will be undertaking the next huge step - a huge mastectomy and reconstruction surgery. So we are trying to get all our ducks in a row in the office for her prolonged absence during her recovery. As you can imagine, there are a million details to go over. So I imagine that the rest of this week will continue to be busy.

In totally unrelated news, am I the only one excited about the new season of Survivor which will be starting tonight?? Yes, it's predictable every season, but my hubby and I still love it! ☺

These past few weeks as I have been on a blogging break and my husband and I have been working on home maintenance projects, I have also been working on myself. I've been thinking about thankfulness and about how it makes such a difference for me when I approach my day with a thankful heart. I find that it is not an easy thing to constantly cultivate this attitude within myself. We are bombarded by messages every day which say that we are not good enough the way we are, that we would be happy if only we bought this or that, on-and-on it goes...It's a challenge - but the benefit from having a thankful heart, for me, is a much more peaceful soul.

I've been feeling so inspired lately to craft and play with paper lately and have been enjoying tinkering with my classes for France along with working on firming up arrangements for more teaching opportunities later in the year.

I arrived home on Thursday from a great CHA show in Anaheim. Once again it was lovely to see familiar faces, great old friends and make a few new ones! As a company we had a great show and are so appreciative for the continued patronage of our customers and for the new clients who find us show after show. What a blessing!

I am been under the weather since coming home and indeed spent most of the day on Sunday and today curled up on my couch responding to emails and blog hopping. Hopefully I will be feeling better soon!

It's a New Year!

Happy New Year!! I can hardly believe it's 2010 already. Here in Vancouver we've been hearing soooo much about 2010 as in Feb. we'll be hosting the Olympic games. For the past 6 years there has been excitement and hype about the games and tons of construction projects undertaken to get us ready for the world in 2010, so it seems so momentous to me that we have finally arrived to this year :)  

This morning I will be hoping on a plane to fly to China for work. I am keenly aware of how blessed Rick and I have been these past few months. It's been an amazing quarter for travel opportunities.  I'm not sure if I will be able to pop in with updates while I am gone, so I have gone ahead and scheduled posts to go up automatically during my absence.  

As I sign off, I wanted to send you over to a really inspiring blog called Stitch In Time. The post I linked to shows a beautiful craft cupboard...wouldn't you LOVE to sit down and peek through all those boxes?

I hope that each of you had a lovely weekend. Hubby and I were able to tackle some home improvement projects, and of course, I spent a bit of time on Saturday cardmaking!  I am absolutely tickled that so many of you entered the drawing for the prize mentioned on the previous post. In fact, with so many wonderful new friends discovering the blog, I have decided that I will send out a personal prize pack too. (It will contain some stamps, sparkle, and a few other surprises). I will draw the name on Tuesday night, and post the winner on Wed.  So if you haven't already left a comment on the previous post, please do so in order to be entered for the new prize.

I also wanted to mention that I added a few new feature to the blog over the weekend. At the bottom of the page, you should now discover a toolbar with some awesome applications.  For my international friends, it has the option to translate my blog into numerous different languages.  While I know that the translations are not perfect, it should still get the main idea of my posts across. There is also a search function (which should take a few days to start working correctly), and an option to see my latest posts, or jump to a random post.  I am in the beta test group for this application, and from the sound of it there will be a lot more tools added to it over time.
